The quantum-safe stack has two halves. We build the entropy half.

Post-quantum migration secures the algorithm layer. It does not secure the randomness feeding those algorithms. The strongest post-quantum algorithm instantiated with a compromised random source remains broken. Quantum River positions as the entropy layer underneath any cryptographic system.

HOUSTON, TX — Quantum River today positioned its Quantum Cryptographic Primitive (QCP) as infrastructure — not a niche product — in the industry's transition to post-quantum cryptography.

"The post-quantum migration has been framed as an algorithm problem," said the Quantum River team. "It's also an entropy problem. The algorithms the industry is adopting require more randomness, in more places, with higher quality than the classical algorithms they replace. That entropy has to come from somewhere."

Two halves of the quantum-safe stack

The post-quantum transition breaks into two distinct concerns:

  • Algorithm layer — resistant to Shor's algorithm. Owned by NIST and the cryptographic standards community. Already standardized (ML-DSA, ML-KEM, SLH-DSA).
  • Entropy layer — randomness rooted in physical measurement rather than a computed seed, continuously health-tested and conditioned per NIST SP 800-90B. Owned by QRNG providers.

Without both halves, the stack is not quantum-safe. The strongest post-quantum algorithm instantiated with a compromised random source remains broken. The strongest entropy source routed through a quantum-vulnerable algorithm is still vulnerable to Shor's.

Where QCP fits

QCP delivers quantum-measured entropy through the interfaces each customer segment actually uses — REST API and SDKs for application developers, on-chain feeds for blockchain protocols, and PKCS#11/KMIP integrations for regulated enterprise and critical infrastructure.

The core technical claim: entropy rooted in quantum measurement rather than a computed seed, with cryptographic attestation of the device state at the moment of generation. The underlying QRNG hardware is compliant with NIST SP 800-90B, ETSI, and QES2; raw quantum output is conditioned to near-uniform distribution per SP 800-90B, and continuous health tests halt delivery on any detected degradation in the raw entropy stream. Conditioning is standard and required, not a compromise — what QCP guarantees is an attested, health-tested root, not a claim that quantum hardware cannot fail.

Market positioning

Quantum River is not competing with algorithm standards bodies. The company is not building another VRF oracle. QCP is the entropy layer underneath any cryptographic system — classical or post-quantum, on-chain or off-chain, API or standards-based.
