Quantum River launches full-stack Entropy-as-a-Service platform with specialized blockchain services
In partnership with UTSI, Quantum River is opening waitlist access to an entropy-as-a-service platform that replaces algorithmically generated randomness with entropy derived from quantum photonic hardware. Targets security teams, blockchain protocols, and digital platforms preparing for the post-quantum era.
HOUSTON, TX — April 21, 2026 — Quantum River today announced the public launch of Quantum Cryptographic Primitive (QCP), an entropy-as-a-service platform that roots cryptographic randomness in quantum photonic hardware rather than a computed seed. The company is opening waitlist access to security teams, blockchain protocols, and digital platforms looking to strengthen the integrity of their infrastructure ahead of the post-quantum era.
QCP is built on a simple premise: randomness should be provable. Every entropy output is generated from NIST SP 800-90B-compliant quantum photonic hardware and cryptographically signed at the device level, giving customers a verifiable chain of provenance they can audit themselves. The platform integrates across cloud, on-chain, and embedded environments without requiring organizations to overhaul their existing stacks, with built-in compliance alignment with NIST SP 800-90B/C.
The entropy problem is a global business risk
Every encrypted transaction, secure communication, and cryptographic key rests on an assumption: that the randomness beneath it is actually random. When that fails, the cryptography built on top collapses. Weak or predictable entropy has driven TLS certificate compromises, stolen cryptocurrency wallets, backdoored VPN appliances, and vulnerabilities affecting millions of hardware security tokens.
That risk is about to compound. As quantum computing advances, adversaries are executing "harvest now, decrypt later" attacks, capturing encrypted traffic today to break it once the hardware catches up. NIST finalized its first post-quantum cryptography standards in 2024, and enterprises face the same migration clock as federal agencies.
Strategic partnership with UTSI targets critical infrastructure
Quantum River has entered into a strategic partnership with UTSI International, a leader in securing critical infrastructure systems. UTSI will integrate QCP into deployments across energy grids, financial clearing systems, defense communications, and government networks, pairing Quantum River's hardware-anchored entropy stack with UTSI's domain expertise and established relationships with critical infrastructure operators. The initial phase is to deploy the technology within the blockchain ecosystem, where the race to adopt post-quantum standards is already underway. The next phase will be to scale the 'Quantum Zero Trust' architecture into the OT environment to meet the critical security demands of industrial infrastructure. The same architecture is applicable across the broader cybersecurity landscape, wherever long-lived data and critical systems must be protected from quantum risk.
How it works
After testing multiple technologies, Quantum River has elected to partner with Sequre Quantum to utilize their QRNG technology, SEQRNG. QCP is a three-layer stack. At the base, NIST SP 800-90B-compliant quantum photonic hardware generates true entropy, delivering genuinely non-deterministic outputs. At the middle layer, each output is cryptographically signed at the device, producing an attestation bound to its hardware source and an unbroken chain of provenance. At the top, a unified API delivers that attested entropy across cloud, on-chain, and embedded environments.
Availability
Quantum River's waitlist is open now for enterprise, blockchain, and critical infrastructure teams. QCP offers a drop-in integration path, enterprise SLAs, and a fully auditable, cryptographically verifiable chain of provenance on every output.
